Pet Plant Program

The Pet Plant Program is a community gardening and seniors wellness initiative founded and actively led by Khurshid Chishti.

Through his continued dedication, the program encourages seniors to stay active, connect with nature, share gardening knowledge and build meaningful friendships.

Markham Community Connect proudly supports the initiative by providing volunteers, community outreach, coordination and assistance with activities.

Khurshid Chishti continues to lead the program, with MCC volunteers working alongside him to help it grow.

The Story Behind Pet Plant

The Pet Plant Program began through Khurshid Chishti's passion for gardening, community wellness and sharing knowledge with others.

His vision is to encourage seniors to experience the joy of planting, caring for nature and connecting with their community.

Over time, the initiative has created opportunities for community members to participate, learn and share experiences through gardening.
